1,873 HP Pininfarina Battista Electric Hypercar Available To Pre-Order

Pininfarina has kicked off sales of the Battista, as the hypercar celebrates its UK public debut. Presented in the British Library’s main Piazza, from June 6 to 9, as part of the “Leonardo da Vinci: A Mind in Motion” exhibition, it wants to “redefine automotive power and technology”.

Available for pre-order here, the Battista will hit assembly next year, when the first cars will be hand-made in Cambiano, near Turin, Italy. Only 150 units will be built, and it’s expected that 50 will be available for the European market, 50 for North America and the rest for Middle East/Asia. Pricing should kick off from around $2.5 million.

“The Battista will set new levels for performance and deliver innovative engineering solutions in an elegant and beautiful body, so we hope it represents how we, as Italians, have been inspired by Leonardo for centuries”, Design Director Luca Borgogno said at the VIP preview hosted yesterday.

Unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March, Pininfarina’s hypercar is described as “a luxury electric hyper performance GT”. It’s powered by no less than four electric motors that produce a jaw-dropping 1,900 PS (1,873 hp / 1,397 kW) and 2,300 Nm (1,696 lb-ft) of torque. It hits 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in less than 2 seconds, 300 km/h (186 mph) in under 12 seconds (!) and maxes out at over 350 km/h (217 mph).

For a zero-emissions hypercar with tremendous performance, the Battista has an excellent range of 483 km (300 miles), thanks to the large capacity, 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that’s mounted behind the seats and in the center tunnel, and also supports DC fast charging.
