Hellcat-Powered Jeep Gladiator Burns Through Tires For Fun

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is looking to put its desirable Hellcat V8 engine to good use in a number of vehicles, but one of its models unlikely to receive this massive powerplant is the Jeep Gladiator.

The Wrangler-inspired pickup truck only recently started to land in dealership showrooms and leaves the factory with a 3.6-liter V6 engine as standard. While that engine offers up enough grunt for most buyers, the aftermarket industry begs to differ. The crew over at America’s Most Wanted 4×4 recently removed it in favor of the Hellcat powertrain.

We’re not entirely sure how easy (or hard) it was to stuff a Hellcat powertrain beneath the skin of the Gladiator but the video below shows that the wild creation runs just as well as any other FCA model with the Hellcat engine. It is also able to burn up its rear tires at the drop of a hat.

This particular Gladiator is the off-road focused Rubicon model which features a capable four-wheel drive system. It’s hard to tell if the tuning house responsible for this engine swap converted the pickup to rear wheel drive but there’s no doubt the finished creation would be capable of tackling difficult off-road trails in style all while producing an intoxicating eight-cylinder soundtrack.

The Jeep Gladiator can be purchased in Sport, Sport S, Overland, and Rubicon grades with each coming with distinctive features, options, and packages. As mentioned, the Rubicon is the range-topping model but buyers can pick up a Gladiator for as little as $33,545 in the United States.
