Pininfarina Offers Up Another Battista Teaser Ahead Of Geneva Debut

While Automobili Pininfarina’s latest teaser of its upcoming electric hypercar isn’t all that revealing, we’re just as eager as before to see what the production-ready model will look like and what it will be able to do when its wheels finally touch down on a race track.

As of right now, we know that the Battista has a carbon fiber construction and electric motors that combine for a whooping 1,900 HP and 2,300 Nm (1,696 lb-ft) of torque. That’s more grunt than you get in most hypercars today.

The expectation is that it will be able to accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 2 seconds, and reach 300 km/h (186 mph) in under 12 seconds – all with a potential zero emissions range of over 450 km (280 miles).

Its market launch is scheduled for 2020, although no more than 150 units will be produced – 50 of them for North America, 50 for Europe and another 50 for the Middle East and Asia.

“Initial demand in North America has been very strong for Battista, and our focus now is on presenting this spectacular hypercar to prospective clients in Europe, the Middle East and Asia,” stated Pininfarina sales director, Marcus Korbach. “Our team will also ensure we have everything in place with our exceptional network to ensure the success of the car. Based on the unique client relationship of our specialists we will add value through the product and brand experience.”

Since the company was established, its CEO, Michael Perschke has talked about how important it is for them to partner with leading retailers and establish global relationships through this new global network.

“We believe our retail specialists will become evangelists of the brand as they take on the privilege of caring for Pininfarina cars and clients. Initially, for the Battista’s 150 clients we’ll have 20 to 25 global touchpoints; as the Pininfarina range grows, we’ll add further retail specialists while still retaining exclusivity,” said Perschke.

The Battista will be revealed at an exclusive VIP event on March 4th at 20:30 CET (14:30 ET) in Geneva. Then it will be displayed for the entire world to see at the Geneva Motor Show the following day, with a press event scheduled for 14:15 CET (8:15 ET).
